About Me

Hey - it's good to meet you! My name is Rebecca.

I work in a flexible and intuitive way using the person-centered counselling modality along with integrative techniques. To me, counselling is a place many go to feel understood and seen, often for the first time, and to finally break their head above the surface for a breath amidst chaos, feeling lost, or numbness. It can also be a place to learn effective techniques for emotional regulation and day-to-day life management. My deepest passion is, over time, creating enough safety and trust between us where we can begin to excavate why you may feel stuck in certain patterns and cycles, and how, if you feel ready, you may begin to heal these wounds and become a more confident and powerful you.

My areas of particular interest are: working to heal from childhood, boundaries and self-assertion, domestic and/or sexual abuse, neurodivergence, people living with Borderline Personality Disorder/EUPD and/or Complex-PTSD, addiction, bereavement, and depression and anxiety.

I work in a trauma-informed way and my work is informed by intersectionality, cultural awareness, and how the larger systems in which we all live effect us as a collective and as individuals. I consider myself an ally for anyone identifying as LGBTQIA+ and for sex workers. I have worked with people in active addiction. I have a lot of experience counselling people who take prescription medication as part of their mental wellness. I also have experience working with immigrants and I spend my own time and money working towards being more culturally informed.

Appointment Information:

Appointment lengths?

I offer fifty minute counselling appointments either weekly or fortnightly. I have experience working with people over the course of years, and also in short bursts of a few weeks or months - I work in an open ended way that centers what you need and I do not contract for a specific length of time.

Where and how do you counsel?

Our sessions can take place in a way that suits you - face to face in a central Aberdeen office location suited for counselling, online video call over Zoom from my cosy apartment, or over telephone. I have previous training/work experience with all three and I have found that, often, clients will find one more helpful than the others. I am always happy to discuss switching to a different way of working if throughout our time together you wish to try something new or life has gotten in the way.

Can I have a consultation first?

If we have never worked together before, I am happy to offer a free fifteen minute consultation over the phone to get to know each other a little and see if we would be a good fit for one another. There is no pressure to book in with me following this if for whatever reason we do not match. If you would like to book an appointment or a free consultation, my availability and contact email address is at the bottom of this page.

What is your hourly fee?

All sessions are £45 each. This is payable in advance via bank transfer or it can be paid in physical cash if we see each other in-person.

When are you available?

I am available during the typical working week for morning, afternoon, or evening appointments and I offer late evening slots.

I only offer a set amount of appointments in a day so that I can be my best self with each person I see.
